Jack Everett Newlin's Obituary
Jack Everett Newlin, age 92, went to sleep on June 3, 2024. Jack grew up in Newport, Indiana. He is known as Jack to some and Pappy to others. Pappy loved to talk, joke around, and laugh. He loved having Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter in his home he shared with his wife Eunice. The fine china would come out; he was the cheerful dishwasher and never broke a piece of Grandma’s china. Jack loved his pets; he made sure they were well fed and taken care of. He loved all his family.
Surviving family members are his brother David Newlin (Sue), nieces Mandy Russell (Gregory) and Sandy Daigle (Terry), stepchildren Virginia Knapp, Alford Sparks, and Betty Hodgett, grandchildren Patricia Helber, Deborah Loessin, David Knapp, Daniel Frank, Sean and Kevin Dillon, numerous nieces, and nephews. He has 14 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren, and numerous friends. His family and friends will always remember him laughing and joking.
Jack was a truck driver when he was younger going to many of the southern states. He loved to travel by truck, car, plane, train, and enjoyed several cruises visiting Alaska, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal.
Jack was predeceased by his loving wife, Eunice, father Elver and mother Julia Newlin, brothers Max, Rex, Bob, Dale, Ed and sisters Mona, Marilyn, and Peggy. Stepchildren Barbara Frank.
Jack served in the United States Army and member of the VFW. He was a long-time member at his church home, South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena Texas.
Visitation will be on June 12 at 1:00 pm with funeral services starting at 2:00 pm at South Park Cemetery located at 1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Main Baptist Church, 4300 E Sam Houston Pkwy South, Pasadena, Texas 77505.
