Mr. Jack Weir Johnson's Obituary
Pearland, TX. It is with a heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Weir Johnson, of Pearland, TX, at Proverbial Care. Nature gave way through the sunrise hours of 13 October, 2018, as he gently and peacefully fell asleep to answer his summons home. Jack had 84 years of a joyous life filled with love, virtue, and family; every minute proudly earned from the time he spent as a devoted son, father, husband, brother, uncle, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather.
Jack was born to Albert Frank and Gladys Loraine Johnson in Mexia, Texas on the 13th day of May, 1934. He was drafted into the Army in 1957, serving honorably while achieving personal awards. Whilst his spirit was of that gentle loving character which commended his disposition, his strict integrity and judgment in business combined with a large sympathy and courteous consideration for his neighbor guided his many successes as a grocer, proprietor, and businessman. He would proudly retire from Kroger’s with more than 30 years of service.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Gladys; his 3 Brothers: Bill, Mack, and Charlie; his eldest son, Bud and his beloved wife Marcia Johnson.
He was survived by his children Vicki, Jack, Mike, & Patty. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandkids. Furthermore, he will be forever honored by countless loved ones and dear friends that are forever humbled by his gratitude and mercy that stuck with him throughout his life.
A celebration of Jack W. Johnson’s life will be held at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at the South Park Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest thereafter in South Park’s cemetery.
