Izez Foster Riley's Obituary
My name is Inez Foster Riley. Heaven no longer waits for me. My life on earth is over and I am cradled in the arms of Jesus. Surrounded by the loved ones who have gone before me, I am at perfect peace. I was born at home on July 24, 1925, to Edward Foster and Letha Carter Foster. Preceded in death by former husband, and father of our children, Ivy W. Willis, two sons, Charles and Richard Willis. Husband's Albert "Rip" Rippey, and Foy "Pat" Riley. Brothers, Edward Ray and Chesley Foster. Grandson, Russell Willis. Favorite Aunt, Elsie Carter Clark. Step-grandson Richard La Grappe. I entrust my legacy to those I am leaving. Beloved daughter, Gayla Willis La Grappe (James) of Humble, Texas; cherished sisters, Inita Fruge (Edward) of Magnolia, Texas, and Mildred Crabtree (widowed) of Cookeville, Tennessee. Granddaughter, Leslie Willis Mederos (A.J.) Houston, Texas. Grandsons, Warren Jones (Jodee) Pearland, Texas; Bruce Willis (Dana) of Kingsland, Texas, Mark Willis (Cathy) of Houston, Texas; Bryan Willis, Houston, Texas. Great-grandchildren, Jordan and Rachel Jones, Pearland, Texas; Trenton Smith, C. J. Howton, Pearland. Step-grandchildren James Lagrappe Jr (Nancy), Phillip La Grappe (Paula); Mark La Grappe; Mary La Grappe; John La Grappe (Ashley); Niece Sharon Crabtree Williams (Les), Gainesboro, Tennessee, along with other numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. Growing up in Louisiana, I attended Glenmora High School, Glenmora, Louisiana. Graduated Valedictorian San Jacinto High School, Houston, Texas. Awarded scholarship to The Air Force Institute of Pathology, Washington D.C. Member of National Society for Histotechnology. In my career as a Histologist, my employment began at the
University of Texas Dental School in 1959, then Baylor College of Medicine Institute of Ophthalmology, Texas Medical Center, until my retirement in 1987. Along with my family, I hold sincerest gratitude to Heritage Retreat Care Home in Atascocita, Texas, their warm, and caring staff for becoming my loving extended family this past year and beyond. My deepest appreciation also to Altus Hospice for their empathy and assistance during a gentle passage and peaceful transition to home with my Lord and Savior.
The family will be present to receive friends on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 1:00PM until Service time at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home; final farewell graveside at SouthPark Cemetery, 1310 N. Main St., Pearland, TX 77581-2213. Pallbearers: Warren Jones, C.J. Howton; James La Grappe, Jr.; Phillip La Grappe and John La Grappe. Honorary Pallbearers: James La Grappe Sr., James La Grappe III, Matthew La Grappe, Patrick La Grappe, Steven Crabtree, Bryan Crabtree, Rodney Fruge, Justin Grant, Jimmy Riley.
