Mrs. Ione Myrline Duffer's Obituary
Ione Myrline Duffer went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 27, 2008. In her short 73 years on Earth, Myrline touched many lives with her warmth, humor, and radiant personality.
Myrline was born on January 11, 1935 in Karnes County, Texas to James and Effie Willborn who have preceded her in death. She graduated from Kenedy High School in 1953. After a whirlwind courtship of 10 weeks she was married on August 31, 1957 to Willard 'Bud' Duffer, the love-of-her-life for 50 years. Myrline is survived by Bud, her daughter and son-in-law Dixie and Paul Thompson of Pasadena, Texas, her sons James Duffer and Adrian Jones of Houston, Texas, her granddaughter and grandson-in-law Tori and Matt Perry of Nacogdoches, Texas, and her brother and sister-in-law Dwayne and Joy Willborn of Victoria, Texas. She was a loving aunt to her nephews Scott, Chris and David Willborn and their families.
Myrline was employed by General Electric, and retired after serving there for 25 years. After retirement, her greatest joy was devoting herself to her husband, her children, her granddaughter, and being the #1 Fan in the Stands for all Milby High School basketball games. She was loved in abundance, and will be greatly missed by all.
