Ina Dean Bloom's Obituary
Ina Dean Bloom, age 94, went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2025, in Richmond, Texas. She was born on November 5, 1930, in Enterprise, Alabama, to Lula Mae and Issca Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved daughters, Deborah Dean Yeomans and Tina Diane McGinty; and her sister, Juanita Woods.
Ina lived an extraordinary life—full of quiet strength, fierce determination, and enduring faith. In the 1960s and ’70s, she owned and operated successful hair salons in Montgomery, Alabama. She trained in New York with some of the era’s most renowned hairdressers, later returning to Alabama as an instructor, where she proudly taught and mentored aspiring stylists. She catered to the who’s who of Alabama high society—people came from far and wide for the privilege of sitting in her chair.
Her ambition didn’t stop there—Ina went on to become a top-producing realtor in both Florida and Arizona, admired for her tenacity, charm, and drive. She returned to Houston five years ago to be closer to her family.
Ina was a true original—a big personality with a quick wit, a generous heart, and a deep love for those around her. She was deeply rooted in her faith and loved to talk about the Lord. Her belief in God was a guiding light in her life, and she shared that light with others through her words, strength, and kindness.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Kellie Ann Daughtry and Brandell Kaye Flores-Pate; her great-grandchildren: Brandon Flores, Jacey Dollinger, Alec Daughtry, and Justin Daughtry; and her great-great-granddaughters, Skylar Flores and Camden Dollinger.
A funeral service to celebrate Ina’s life will be held in the chapel at SouthPark Funeral Home, 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, TX 77581, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service. Family and friends are invited to attend and honor her memory.
