Ida Fridia's Obituary
My Savior Has Called
I was blessed to be born September 11, 1944 to Willie T. and Zadie Caldwell in Nacogdoches, Texas. The middle child of five, I was showered with love and a true sense of family. During my life, I married Elmer, my love, partner, provider, friend, and caregiver. It is a beautiful life when a union is blessed with a wonderful child. Ours was blessed with Stephanie, and Stephanie and Darrell blessed me with the most amazing grandchildren, Taylor and Alexis. Along the way, I shared a lifetime of memories with my siblings, partied with the best scrapbooking ladies around, and laughed often with friends.
If you know me, you know how I love the Lord. So hear me when I tell you this—as my days on Earth have now ended, the time has come to join my Savior. I have not left you, I am merely answering the call. My Savior prepared me for this day. And though I have fought many battles, suffered aches and pain, there is no suffering now. To each of you, it may be a bit hard, even sad to see me go, but for me it was a peaceful wait for God to take me home. I know you did all you could to ease my pain and keep me here, and for that I am grateful and thankful. Know that you are loved by me forever more, and I can watch and walk with you at any time-- just call. God heard your cries, took my hand, and gently closed my eyes. On September 7, 2019, I gladly received my wings, and now I will serve Him for eternity and drape you with love until we can line dance again.
