Howard Stiles' Obituary
Mr. Howard Arthur Stiles, age 95, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2024. He was born on October 25, 1928, in Elborn, Illinois. Mr. Stiles served in the United States Navy from 1947 to 1949.
He is survived by his sons Greg Bowie and partner Gerardo Hernandez Atuesta, Terry Stiles and his wife Jeannie (Forster), and Robin Stiles, sister-in-law Kathleen Stiles, nephews Chris Stiles and Tom Merrifield, nieces Betty Stiles, Heather Wachel (Stiles), Tami Kuehl (Lambert), Pat Lough (Lambert), Diana Bryant Ollerton, and preceded in death by his wife, Illa Stiles (Price), and sons Danny, Donnie, and Ronnie Stiles. He was the last surviving sibling of 6 children. His siblings were Lucille, Mildred, Charles, Albert, and Robert.
He grew up in Batavia and Aurora, Illinois and in 1968 he moved to Dallas, Texas. He worked several jobs in his life but his dream job was to be a baker. He worked in a bakery for a short while in Dallas and in the evenings, he learned drafting from his brother, Al. He worked for many years as a structural detailing draftsman.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 10 am at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 N Main Street, Pearland, TX 77581. Mr. Stiles was a member of Genoa United Methodist Church.
In memory of Mr. Stiles, his family will gather to honor his life and service to his country.
