Mr. Howard Newhall Moody Jr.'s Obituary
On Tuesday, July 24th 2012 from the comfort of his own home and surrounded by his loving familyk Howard (Howie) Newhall Moody was called home by his Lord to be with his beautiful wife whom he has longed to be reunited with for the past twelve years. Born to Howard Newhall Moody Sr. and Gladys Baxter Moody in Lynn, Massachusettes on December 27th, 1930 Howie began his heroic, joyfulk and compassionate life. Starting at an early age he was an animal lover by heart, a trait that has been passed down generation through generation. He is a graduate of Lynn High School and a veteran of the Korean War. On April 30th, 1955 he married the love of his life Jacqueline (Jackie) Mae Turpin and together they raised, and unconditionally loved and cared for their three daughters. He retired from Napco as a Foreman in 1983 due to his vision impairment. Though he was visually impaired from an early age, he made the most of his life and saw many sights across the world fulfilling his love for travel.
Predeceased by his father, Howard Moody; his mother, Gladys Baxter Moody; his wife; Jacqueline Turpin Moody; their baby daughter, Dawn Elaine Moody; and baby granddaughter, Nicole Moody. Survived by brothers, Wayne Moody of Cape Cod, Mass. And Gail Moody of Lynn, Mass.; Daughters, Darlene Moody, Donna Moody Knaak, and Sandra (Sandy) Moody; Granddaughters, Kristy Martinez, Aimee Knaak, Megan Knaak of Rochester, NY, and Amanda Riggs; Great Grandsons, Jared and JJ, and Alek and Kobe of Rochester, NY; and his beloved cat, Timmy.
The family is asking that any charitable contributions be made in his name to the Blinded Veterans Association, Lighthouse for the Blind, SPCA, or First United Methodist Church of Pearland.
Services will be help on Saturday, July 28th, 2012 at 3:00pm at the First United Methodist Church of Pearland on 2314 North Grand Blvd.
Howie will truly be missed but never forgotten by his family and friends who believe that he is of full sight and eternally happy at last.
