Mr. Houston Richardson's Obituary
PALESTINE - Houston Davis "Bud" Richardson, 71, was born Sept. 16, 1939, in Mineola, Texas to Henry Richardson and Vivian Richardson. He passed away on Nov. 1, 2010, at Palestine Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patsy Ruth Brown; a brother, Sammy Dale Richardson; and son, Anthony Noah Caughlin. He is survived by his lovely wife of 38 years, Ruth H. "Billie" Richardson; his children, Beverly Phillips of Madisonville, Texas, Brett Richardson of Pearland, Texas, Suzan Tompkins and husband David of Houston, Texas, Gregory Caughlin of Houston, Texas, John Caughlin III and wife Patty of Ponca City, Okla., daughter-in-law, Melanie Martin of Webster, Texas and Beth Tadlock and husband Brad of Pearland, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Tompkins, Danielle Tompkins, Lauren Caughlin, Chad Caughlin, Amanda Neal, Caitlin Caughlin, Anthony Noah Caughlin II, Connor Anthony Caughlin, Tommy Followwill, Jason Phillips, Joseph Phillips, Tyler Richardson, Blaine Richardson, Amber Charalampous , Tanner Charalampous, Sterling Holley and very special friend, Patricia Rogers, and special friend and helper Bryum Nahuatt. Mr. Richardson graduated from Galena Park High School, Galena Park, Texas in 1960. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on Feb. 1, 1962, and received a Honorable Discharge on Feb. 1, 1966. After leaving the Air Force, he worked at Armco Steel Corporation in Houston, Texas as a Steel Mill Supervisor in the DR Plant from 1966 till 1982 when he retired. After retirement, Houston and Ruth moved to Palestine, Texas on their farm with their 36 year old horse, Suzanne and 14 year old Shih Tzu, Sparkman who were there to greet him at the Rainbow Bridge. There will be a Memorial Celebration of his life held in The Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of customary remembrances and for those desiring to do so, memorial contributions may be made to BARC (The Anderson County Humane Society) 335 Armory Road, Palestine, Texas 75803.
