Heron Garza Jr.'s Obituary
Heron Garza Jr (aka JR, Jr, or El Padre), 54, passed away the morning of Monday, April 28th, 2025 peacefully in his sleep. JR was born October 26th,1970 to Heron and Victoria Garza in Houston, Texas.
In 1986, JR attended LECJ where he met Renee. They knew each other as friends in high school and started dating in 1990 and marrying in 1991.
JR began working for Brown & Root in 1992. He went on to work at Invista in 2006, furthering his career in the refineries. Over the span of his 30 years in the refineries, JR made many friends and looked out for his guys.
As most of you know, or if you couldn't tell, BBQ was his passion. If JR wasn’t at work, he was cooking or grilling something; as his Facebook posts can attest to that.
JR was preceded in death by his father Heron and his mother Victoria. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Renee; his daughters, Marissa, Erin, Gracie, and Abbey; his only sister Christina and his nephew Christian.

Services will be held at South Park Funeral Home & Cemetery in Pearland, Texas. Viewing will be held on Sunday, May 4th, 2025 from 5-7PM.
Service will be held on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at 10:00 AM
Burial will be held on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at 11 AM.
