Herman Lastrape Sr. was born on November 3, 1947 in Beggs, Louisiana to Ernest Lastrape Sr. and Cleola Lastrape.
Herman Lastrape Sr. attended school at Paul Lawrence Dunbar in Washington, Louisiana. He attended Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church and he remained a member until his death.
Herman Lastrape departed this life on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at a local hospital in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his son Herman Lastrape Jr and brother June Lastrape. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Lou Ethel Lastrape: three sons Fred Lastrape, Christian Lastrape and Chris Lastrape, all of Houston, Texas and a daughter Dorine Lastrape, of Atlanta Georgia. He also leaves three brothers: David Lastrape of Opelousas, Louisiana. James Lastrape, and Johnny Lastrape of Houston, Texas, also three sisters: Doretha Lastrape, Theresa Lastrape and Mercedes Lastrape of Houston, Texas and a host of grandkids, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
