Helen Reyna (Gonzales) Montanes
Helen Reyna Montanes, 88 years of age, died on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 5:10 pm at her home where she resided with her son, Jimbo Gonzales and his wife, Donna.
Helen was born on September 25, 1930 in Victoria, Texas, and was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Rita Rosa Reyna.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Pearland, Texas where she raised her family and was proudly employed for 35 years at the Pearland Post Office. Helen began her career with the Postal Service in 1967, where she held the distinction as the first female male carrier with the city of Pearland.
Helen is survived by her 7 children: Richard, Mike, Bobby, Glenda, Mark, Jimbo and R.P.; numerous grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Helen blessed many with her tamales, breakfast tacos for her co-workers, years of hundreds of catered meals, festive gatherings for her family and friends. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and you could not convince her to change her mind.
Helen will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of being a part of her life.
Memorial service to be held Saturday, September 8th at 10:00 am. To be followed by a gathering at the Brookside Village Fire Department Community Center.
