Hector Mario Saldarriaga's Obituary
Hector Mario Saldarriaga was born on July 13, 1960 in Medellin, Colombia, to parents Maria de las Mercedes Martinez and Hector de Jesus Saldarriaga Escobar. He moved to the United States in 1981 and later attended San Jacinto College and earned his associate’s degree and many advanced certifications throughout his life. Hector was actively involved in the cycling community and regularly attended cycling competitions and group rides. He loved his family and friends and was passionate about his native country.
Hector Saldarriaga is survived by his partner, Guadalupe Buenrostro; his three children, Deijeine Cano, Hector Jr. Saldarriaga, and Paris Saldarriaga which he shared with his former spouse, Mildred Saldarriaga; his nine siblings, Mariana, Beatrice, Jorge, Dora, Diana, Victoria, Monica, Juan Carlos, and Sandra and their children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Hector de Jesus Saldarriaga. Hector Saldarriaga and his Uncle Gerardo were especially close.
Hector was a great family man and a loving father. Hector was a social, active man who was deeply involved in cycling for the majority of his life. Family and friends will remember him for his fun nature, helping hand, and passion for his children.
