Mrs. Gwendolyn Leora Taylor's Obituary
Gwendolyn Taylor entered the loving arms of Our Lord on March 29, 2019 at the tender age of 84 years old. She was born in Huttonsville, Randoplh Co., West Virginia on November 22, 1934 to Richard Henry and Georgia Holt Pingley.
Mrs. Taylor graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She also received a Master’s Degree in Geography from University of Houston at Clear Lake. She was a teacher at South Houston Hight School for 25 years where she taught Geography, English and History.
Mrs. Taylor was a long-time member of Hope Lutheran Church and later Sharon Lutheran Church in Pasadena, Texas. She enjoyed traveling and working in her flower garden.
She will always be remembered by loving children; Gary Shankle, wife Pam, Kim Perkins, husband Dean, grandchildren; Tracey Baker, Aaron Shankle, Ray Covert and Evan Perkins, 4 great grandchildren, sisters; Carolyn Cunningham, husband Monte Cunningham, and Eula Robbins, along with many nieces and nephews.
Services will be during August in West Virginia.
