Gwendolyn Fenner's Obituary
Gwendolyn Fenner, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 27, 2020 in Granbury, TX. Gwennie, as she was known by many family and friends, was born December 10, 1932 in Victoria, Texas, to Amory and Katherine Geffert. Gwen later attended Nazareth Academy and Victoria College. Gwen married Richard G. Fenner of Victoria in July of 1952. They had three children.
The family lived in Portland, Oregon, Austin, Texas, Richardson, Texas and Houston, Texas. In Houston, Gwen retired after 25 years from Ameron Corporation as an executive assistant. Gwen participated in and enjoyed many social activities including South Belt Chamber of Commerce, German Club, Friends of the Library, and Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Women’s Group. Gwen enjoyed travelling throughout her life and in recent years vacationed on a river cruise in France, Paris and an Alaskan Cruise as well as travelling to Barbados and Jamaica for family weddings. Gwen loved life, her friends, her family, her church, her lipstick and getting her hair done every week. Gwen is preceded in death by her parents, Richard, her husband of 56 years, and her sister Audrey Ann Geffert of Victoria, Texas. Gwen is survived by her children, Melissa and Steve Byrd of Granbury, Texas, Bret and Lori Fenner of Georgetown, Texas and Traci Rothermund of Carrollton, Texas. Gwen, known as Granny, treasured her grandchildren Michelle Bose of Midland, Texas, Stephanie and Chris Fadal of Lorena, Texas, Stephen and Alex Byrd of Midland, Shannon and Brennan Goodman of Midland, Ean Rothermund of Carrollton and Hadley and Paige Rothermund of Aubrey, Texas. Gwen, Granny, especially cherished her five great grandchildren, Madison and McKenzie Bose of Midland, Mark and Kate Fadal of Lorena and Lyla Byrd of Midland. Gwen is also survived by many cousins and friends. Gwen’s quirky, funny personality will be missed by all. She had the ability to make people live, laugh and love.
