Mr. Guadalupe C. Munoz's Obituary
Mr. Guadalupe C. Muñoz, 80, of Rio Grande City, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 24, 2018. He passed peacefully in his sleep after complications from the flu and pneumonia. Having had a heart transplant in 2008, his immune system was shut off, so he was unable to fight diseases and infections. As a result, he suffered the past 9 years constantly trying to recover from different ailments, but he never let go of the hope that someday his body would be completely restored. Now that it has been, he can rest in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
The son of Pablo & Dolores C. Muñoz, Guadalupe was the eldest of twelve children. He grew up in Mercedes, Texas where he began working at a very early age to help support his family. He started with farming and eventually worked his way into the grocery business. He went on to become a professional welder for most of his adult life.
Guadalupe was a big fan of baseball, wrestling, and zydeco music. He became a Christian at the age of 35 and an ordained minister at the age of 44. A loving husband and father, Guadalupe was often very spontaneous and enjoyed day trips with his family away from the busy city. He was an avid reader who loved to study and teach the written Word of God. He was an excellent listener, a brilliant storyteller, and always gave the best advice. He could find humor in any and everything and always had a joke ready to go. Guadalupe touched so many lives and will truly be missed by all.
