Gregorio Cervantes' Obituary
Our beloved father Gregorio Cervantes passed peacefully on March 13th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 89. Gregorio was born on January 10th, 1936, in Durango, Mexico. Son of Margarito and Elpidia Cervantes, he was the sixth son among his 7 siblings.
Gregorio met Cesarea in 1960 at a dance in Santa Apolonia, Mexico. They married 2 years later on March 31st, 1962, and soon they started a beautiful family of 5. He was then given an opportunity to work in Chicago and worked there for 3 years before moving to Houston, Tx. In December of 1973, Cesarea and children joined him where they planted their roots.
Gregorio retired at the age of 72 and he loved music, dancing, was known for having a green thumb, he enjoyed planting all sorts of vegetation, carpentry, but most of all, spending time with his family barbecuing!
He is survived by his wife Cesarea of almost 63 years of marriage, his daughter Enedina and spouse Juan Marroquin, his son Marco Antonio and spouse Eusebia, his son Octavio and spouse Teresa, his son Hector Cervantes, his daughter Erendira and spouse Benjamin Rodriguez.
Grandchildren; Kevin and spouse Kate, Alexander and Liliana Marroquin; Marco Antonio Jr. and spouse Nellie, Christopher, Adam and Monica Cervantes; Vanessa Cervantes, Korinna C, and spouse Andrew Moore, Aleina C. and spouse Giovanni Almaguer; Blake, Matthew and Lexi Cervantes; Benjamin V and Nicholas Rodriguez.
Great grandchildren; Stevie Lena Marroquin, Nevaeh Cervantes, Danellie Cervantes, Marco Antonio Cervantes III; Myla E., Ariyah N., and Liam Andrew Moore
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
