Fearless of mortal death, Mrs. Gloria Ann (Mason) Harrison went to everlasting life with The Lord on July 31, 2018 in Houston, Texas. Gloria was born on November 4, 1939 in Houston, Texas, to the late Rose Mary (Dupuy) Mason and the late David DeWitt Mason, Sr. Gloria was the loving wife of the late James Richard Harrison, Sr, with whom she walks again for eternity. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David “Sonny” DeWitt Mason, Jr. She called Houston home all her life and attended Incarnate Word Academy. Gloria’s deep faith in God and love of family guided every aspect of her life. Her kind heart and independent spirit were evident to everyone she met. Gloria’s greatest joy on Earth was the family who survives her; sons, James R. Harrison, Jr, William D. D. Harrison, Michael G. Harrison, Brian A. Harrison, and John P. Harrison; daughter, Julie H. Mikel; grandchildren, James Taylor, Kayleigh R. Lott, Ryan B. Harrison, James A. Harrison, Devin M. Harrison, Thomas A. Mikel, Rosemary A. Mikel, and Stephen K. Mikel; and great-grandchildren, Dakota L. Lott and Lilyanne P. Lott. Gloria dearly loved her children by marriage and is mourned by her son-in-law, CDR Elvis T. Mikel, USN, and daughters-in-law, Laura S. Harrison and Michelle Harrison. She also leaves behind her “grand-dog”, George. She was a member of St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Those who wish may donate in Gloria's name to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (www.michaeljfox.org). Friends and family are welcome to attend the Visitation and Rosary on Monday, August 6 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 10727 Hartsook St., Houston, TX 77034; as well as the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 7 at 9:30 a.m., also at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
