Glenda Lou Fitzgerald's Obituary
Glenda Lou Fitzgerald (nee Frost), 74, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away on June 5, 2024, in Pasadena, Texas. Glenda was born on February 5, 1950, in Pasadena, Texas, to the late George C. and Zelma Frost.
A beloved wife, devoted mother, and sister, Glenda is survived by her husband Edward Fitzgerald, daughter Wendy Fitzgerald, son Reverend Brian Fitzgerald, daughter-in-law Katherine Fitzgerald, and twin sister Linda Sue Mangrum. She is preceded in death by her father, George, mother, Zelma, sisters, Peggy and Carolyn, and brother, Jimmy.
Glenda dedicated her life to caring for others, starting as a Registered Nurse at Pasadena General Hospital's Intensive Care Unit and later serving as a Head Nurse at Jefferson Davis Hospital's Newborn Nursery. Her passion for nursing and caring for others led her to work at various hospitals, including Southeast Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Bayshore Hospital, St. Luke’s Medical Tower, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and the Pasadena Independent School District.
After retiring in 2008, Glenda found profound joy in worshipping at Grace Church Houston and participating in church activities including serving as a First Responder and as a greeter on the Dream Team. She enjoyed reading the Bible, sharing her faith and deep love for the Lord, singing, and gardening. She was an encourager to everyone she met. Glenda was known for her joyful smile, kindness, boundless energy, bright sense of humor, and abundance of love for her family, her grand kitties, and all of God’s creatures.
A memorial service for Glenda will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas. The viewing will take place from 9 - 10 am, followed by the memorial service from 10 - 11 am. The graveside service will be for family only.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Glenda’s memory may be made to Grace Church Houston, KSBJ, Joyce Meyers Ministries, or Discovering the Jewish Jesus.
