Giovanni Alberto Escobar Vasquez's Obituary
Giovanni Alberto Escobar Vasquez, was born in Cali, Colombia on the 26th day of June, 1972. He finished his High School at the Military Academy Jose Maria Cabal of Cali City. Later, he studied his Bachelor's Degree as a Merchant-Naval Pilot receiving the Title in Merchant-Nautical Sciences from the School of Merchant Nautical Institution in the Tampico, Tamaulipas State in Mexico after receiving a full scholarship. Once finished, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Barranquilla-Colombia. He later went to the Escuela Naval de Cadetes "Almirate Padilla" in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia where he received the Ascending Title of Captain.
He had an extensive experience in different cities as he sailed on cruise ships and cargo ships throughout the different seas of the world. He anchored in many ports throughout the globe, gaining knowledge of many cultures that enriched our world.
In October, 2008, he stablished residence in Houston, Texas, as an employee for the BBC Chartering Company through which he placed his love, knowledge and experience, receiving his professional title of Senior Port Captain.
Giovanni formed a wonderful home in the company of his wife, Angelica Marulanda, whom he loved profoundly, they had the privilege of bringing two wonderful children to this world: Daniel Felipe Escobar and Melanie Escobar, to them he dedicated and gave his life, example and love above all, as a father and husband.
