Gilbert Perez Garivey, 83, of Manvel, Texas passed away on August 15, 2024. Gilbert was born on September 20, 1940 to Frank and Lupe Garivey in Cuero, Texas.
Gil is survived by his eldest son Gilbert P. Garivey Jr. and youngest son Joseph F. Garivey (Tonia) And Gil’s sisters Angie and Elida (Greg).
Gil is survived by his wife, Doris Erwin Garivey of 7 years, her first born Crystal Of Colleyville, Tx, Angela of Burleson, Tx, Jennifer of Dallas, Tx, and Brian of Houston, TX.
He was blessed with grandchildren Caitlyn, Mandy, and Joey and two great grandchildren, Emery and Zepplin along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Gil was a retired Army Sergeant First Class and a Vietnam veteran. He received numerous awards including the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/Device, Driver and Mechanic Badge and the Sharpshooter Badge.
Gil loved the woods, a nice fire, the company of his dogs, cheap cigars and a good steak.
