Mrs. Georgina Ellen Flory's Obituary
Georgina Ellen Flory, 83, of Pearland Texas passed away from complications of Alzheimer's Disease on February 2, 2013. Georgina was born October 19, 1928 in Cornwall, England as one of eleven children. Her family survived almost nightly bombings from the NAZIS during World War II while hiding under their heavy wooden kitchen table. After working at several major resorts in the UK after the war, Georgina decided to move to the US in 1954 and settled in New York City, working as a governess for a wealthy Long Island couple. Through mutual friends, she met and married Omer Flory in 1955. The couple had two children, Gary (born in 1956) and Robert (born in 1959). The family lived first in various towns in New Jersey from 1955 to 1967 before moving to Columbus Ohio. After living in Ohio until 1973, the family again pulled up stakes and headed to Houston, Texas, where they remained until the present. Omer passed away in February of 1994. Georgina is survived by her sons Gary and Robert, their wives Mary and Debra, her grandchildren Aaron and Kristen, and numerous family members still living in the UK. Memorial services will be held on February 9, 2013 at 1:30 PM at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas.
