Mrs. Georgia Lee Griggs Johnson's Obituary
Georgia Lee Griggs Johnson, age 77, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 22, 2017. Georgia was born, the oldest of five children, September 7, 1939 to Elda Lee and Jesse Manual Griggs in Friendswood, Texas.
She had a passion for children; caring for foster children, nieces and nephews, as well as her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with family, sewing, cooking, and playing Keno.
Georgia is survived by son Billy Johnson, his children Chrystina Leago and husband Trey and Nick Johnson, daughter Elisa Spector and husband Jeff , their children Wendye Johnson and fiancé Ivory Durio, Joseph Mayes, Marcelo Hinojosa III, and Amy Hinojosa and daughter Tina Johnson-Dublin and husband James and their daughter Emily. She also leaves behind her sisters Angela Namba and husband Steve and Ginny Griggs. Her nephew Johnny Griggs (who she cared for as her son) and wife Lily and their children Dustin, Savannah, and Candace (whom she loved as grandchildren). Her great grandchildren Serena Parr, Braxton and Jaxson Leago, and Madison Durio and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Elda and Jesse Griggs, sister Karen Annette Griggs, brother John Griggs, her husband Lonnie Johnson, her daughter Carol Cheatham and grandson Robert Parr.
Services will be held at South Park Funeral
Home. Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2017 5:00-8:00. The funeral service will be Friday, January 27, 2017 12:30. Internment immediately following the service.
