Mrs. Georgia Boyd Gifford's Obituary
Georgia Boyd Gifford went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 1, 2014. She was born on December 31, 1933 to Clarence and Elizabeth Boyd in Sugden, Oklahoma.
Georgia was a long time resident of Pearland and many in the community knew her through her 26 years as owner/manager of Pearland Florist. But possibly more people knew her because of her 36 years teaching First Grade Sunday School at First Baptist Church Pearland. Through her consistent, loving teaching countless children were given a wonderful start on their own walk with the Lord.
She is preceded in death by Burton Gifford, her loving husband of 52 years. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Hatchett; daughter, Audrey Smith and husband, Brian; son, Dennis and wife, Martha; grandchildren: Audra Hatchett, Alan Hatchett and wife, Laura, Jeffrey Smith and wife, Emily, Jeremy Smith, Jana Elizondo and husband, Eric; great-grandchildren: Isaac Hatchett and Sebastian Hatchett; sister, Wanda Martin, sister, Lou Scruggs and brother-in-law, Clarence, sister, Connie Virgadamo and brother-in-law, Jim; sister-in-law, Margie Dobbs; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives who meant so much to her.
Friends and are invited to visitation with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening at SouthPark Funeral Home. A celebration of Georgia’s life will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, September 6, 2014 in the chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home with Bro. Sonny Steed officiating. Graveside services will follow in SouthPark Cemetary. Pallbearers are Alan Hatchett, Jeffrey Smith, Jeremy Smith, Eric Elizondo, Brian Smith and Jimmy Virgadamo. honarry pallbearers Isaac Hatchett and Sebastian Hatchett.
