Geemon Mathen's Obituary
Geemon Mathen, lovingly known as Gee, was born September 1, 1970 in Kottayam, Kerala, India to his loving parents, the late Mr. Mathew Mathen and Mrs. Aleyamma Mathen. He was adored by his older sister Geetha, as well as his many family and friends.
At the age of 6, Gee moved to Lufkin, Texas. Gee graduated from Lufkin High School and attended Texas A&M University and the University of Houston. In 1994 Gee married the love of his life, Shiji, and became the proudest father to his son, Alex, and his daughter, Emily.
Gee loved football, cooking, playing cards, golf, and spending time with his family, friends, and his beloved canine best-friend, Cooper. He was dedicated to his church family and a member of St. Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Church. Gee was a prominent and revered member of the Texas Children’s Hospital family for 34 years where he worked fervently and earned the title of Director of Pharmacy Clinical Applications & Technical Services. Gee spent his time helping his family and making memories growing up in Lufkin, Texas and continued to extend his unique gifts of love and friendship after moving to Missouri City and connecting with the Houston area. He touched many lives in every community he was a part of.
Gee will be warmly remembered as a dedicated father, loving husband, selfless and kind friend, and a playful source of laughter and smiles by all who knew him.
Gee is preceeded in death by his parents, Mr. Mathew Mathen and Mrs. Aleyamma Mathen. Gee is survived by his loving wife, Shiji, son, Alexander, daughter, Emily, and his sister Geetha Varghese and family.
