Gary was born on September 7th, 1944 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1961 and went on to attend and graduate from The University of Texas in Austin.
Gary married Paulette in 1995. Gary had 3 children, Chris, Jeffrey, & Courtney from his previous marriage and Paulette had 4 children, John Richard, Kurt, Michael, & Jim from her previous marriage. Gary and Paulette knew of each other because they raised their children in Memorial where all 7 children grew up and attended school. One evening, Gary and Paulette were both at Kurt’s place of business and Kurt formally introduced them. From that first night, they never left each other's side. They welcomed all of their beloved grandchildren and created a beautiful, blended family together. Gary was the coach of his kid’s teams, and later in life he enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s sports games, playing cards and traveling with friends. Gary was an amazing husband, a dedicated father, a loving grandfather, and he was adored by so many.
No memorial service or funeral is planned. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to St. Jude www.stjude.org
