It's hard to choose one particular memory to post. How do you put a lifetime of memories onto a tribute wall? I remember the day he was born, only 6 weeks earlier than my own daughter. Garrett and his siblings grew up so close to my children. "The cousins" were always together. I remember lots of family dinners and birthdays and vacations. I remember skipping rocks at rivers, hiking mountain trails, skiing and playing in the snow. I remember canoe trips and fishing trips. I loved to make jerky for him, because he said my jerky was "the absolute best he ever had!" He also loved to "come to the country" so he could shoot guns and hang out. One of my favorite memories is the Christmas we had karaoke and we sang together. I thought when Garrett and Brittany sang "Baby, It's Cold Outside" it was as good as the real recording. One thing I appreciate most about him was his big heart and his willingness to tell you he loved you. I think Garrett told me he loved me just about every time I talked with him. I am so, so, so thankful he called the week of his death. I will forever cherish that phone call. I love you, too, Garrett!
