Mr. Gale Elton Smith's Obituary
SMITH Gale Elton Smith, 89, of Friendswood, Texas passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009. He was born to Theo and Goldia Smith in Zenith, Kansas on July 30, 1919. Gale was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II. He worked for the railroad for over ten years. After living in Sioux City, Iowa for twelve years he moved to Oklahoma City, OK where he worked for the FAA for thirty-two years. He enjoyed woodworking and has made many beautiful pieces of furniture for his friends and family. Gale is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Lela. His children include Christine Bobo and her husband, Earl, of Alvin, TX, John Smith and his wife, Ruth, of Houston, TX, and Gale Edward Smith and his wife, Araina Alford, of Franklin, NC. His grandchildren include Mark Hamlin and his wife, Yvette, Brian Hamlin and his wife, Rebecca, and Travis Smith. He has one great-grandchild, Rachel Marie Hamlin. Gale is also survived by five brothers and one sister.
