Mrs. Gail Eileen Gaidosek's Obituary
Gail Eileen Gaidosek, 83, left gracefully and peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, October 13, 2019. Gail was a 1954 graduate of Milby High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Angel Dampier and her mother-in-law Mamie Watson Williamson. She is survived by a loving husband of 63 years, Larry Watson Gaidosek; her two children, Johnny Gaidosek and wife Lisa and Tina Loy and husband Doug. She is affectionately called Mimi by her 6 grandchildren, Larry Bill Gaidosek, James Loy, Sara Gaidosek, Tim Gaidosek, Joshua Loy and Jackson Loy, as well as her 11 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Zoey, Matthew, Sadie, Emmit, Osiris, Coraline, Makayla, Petr, Sam and Oliver. Gail is also survived by one sister, Phyllis Garner and husband Red of Katy, Tx and special sister-in-law, Sandra Jones of Houston, Tx and numerous other loving family and friends.
Gail was a lover of life and people and wore many hats. She worked at such places as Johnson Space Center as a teletype operator, Pearland State Bank and First National Bank of Alvin as a teller and Manvel City Hall as, not only the City Secretary, but a patrol officer as well. Before retiring from Sam’s Club where she worked for over 15 years, Gail not only worked in the Demo Department, but was quickly promoted as the Demo Coordinator for Sam’s Club Eldorado. Because of her vibrant personality and outstanding work ethic, she was asked often to help train new Demo Department employees in several new Clubs in the Houston area. After retirement, she would visit “her club” and the news travelled fast; her former co-workers store wide were always excited to see her big smile and grab a hug! Her favorite “hat” of all time though, was that of “Mimi”. She loved all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the max, either taking them on or traveling with them on what always was sure to be an adventure.
Gail enjoyed traveling by land, sea, and air with family, too. Some of the adventures she loved best were visiting Alaska, Greece, Italy, and casinos!
She especially loved cruising to Alaska and going on the sled ride excursions with “her puppies”! Gail’s hobbies included fishing, crabbing, dancing, sewing, crocheting, gardening and cooking. She was an avid dominoes player, crossword solver and ace at multiple card games. But her favorite hobby was shopping. She loved a good bargain for herself but equally loved shopping for others as well.
Gail was the personification of unconditional love. She made a positive impact on all she met and her family and friends will never stop missing her.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 5pm - 8pm at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland. Service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 10am, also at South Park Pearland. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Gaidosek, Doug Loy, Larry Bill Gaidosek, James Loy, Tim Gaidosek, Joshua Loy and Jackson Loy.
