Franklin D. Wells' Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our father, Franklin D Wells. He was born on Feb 8, 1942 and passed after a long battle with a lung disease on Oct 4, 2024
He was married on Oct 11, 1958, and in 1959 enlisted into the Air Force so that he may provide for his family. At the young age of 21 he was a Staff Sgt, with one of the highest security clearances with the Tactical fighter Wing in the special airborne forces. He spent 2 tours in Vietnam and 8 years in the Air Force with an honorable discharge in 1967.
He then put himself through college while working two jobs and helping raise 4 children. He graduated from San Jacinto college with a 2 year associate of science degree and technical certificate.
He played competitive slow pitch soft ball while in the military and continued the love of the game once out.
Our father loved being involved with the kids, coaching and playing ball with the neighborhood next to our house. He loved traveling with his family making sure that they saw as much of the country as possible. He loved his grandkids and had a nick name for just about all of them.
Dad had a strong work ethic instilling that in his children and anyone he worked with. He was a great mentor, leader and advisor.
He is preceded in death by his son Frankie Wells, grandchildren Jana Wells and Jeremy Fowler, father John D Wells and mother Willie Brown, brother Sonny Wells and sister Johnnie Currington. He is survived by children Jim and Carol Wells, Sheila and Kent Fowler, Karen and Gilbert Tamez and 9 grand children and 12 great grand children.
The memorial service will be held on Oct 11, 2024 at 1:00pm at Grandview Funeral home at 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505 with a grave site military service.
Thank you to all that cared and loved daddy and came to see him. He loved his family dearly and it meant a great deal for him to see you all before his passing.
