Mr. Francis Emmett Willett's Obituary
On November 17, 2010, Frank Willett went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ. The idea of not having him with us, making us laugh, sharing his love, and spending time with him is still overwhelming, yet we KNOW that Jesus is alive and we will be with him on that day. He was a wonderful Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Brother, and it's still hard to believe he's gone! He was born in Collingswood, NJ on December 10, 1942 to Helen Francis Purzycki and Emmett Carl Willett. He grew up Catholic, then as an adult took his family to the Episcopal Church. When he was 57 he started attending Second Baptist, gave his life to the Lord and got baptized. Finally during the last two years of his life, while living with his daughters, he attended Calvary Houston in Friendswood, Texas and Maranatha in San Diego, California. He grew up in NJ and after he graduated he went into the Navy, where he served for 13 years. During that time he served two tours in Vietnam. After the military, he went to work for Ford Aerospace. He then met his wife Sharon; they were married for 21 years. They had two daughters. With Ford Aerospace he moved often. One of his favorite songs was 'On the Road Again,' for they moved often: CA, AK, HA, GA, NE, VI, OK, MA, and finally Texas. Once he began working for NASA Johnson Space Center he knew he never wanted to move again, working for the Space Program was his dream job. Besides his two girls and grandchildren in which he adored, he loved his dogs, Lady and Ike. He had a beautiful home in Friendswood. Due to an accident at work, he had to retire. Even though this wasn't his plan, living with his two daughters and their families made his life full again, and would say 'I always want to live here with you. He was a wonderful Father and a fun Grandfather, no one will ever be able to fill his shoes, he is so missed! He was preceded in death by his father Emmett, his mother Helen, and his granddaughter Jordan. He is survived by his daughters Leeann Patricia Crabtree, and husband Ken and daughter Leslie Francis Hardin, and husband Chris. His brother David Willett and wife Ruth and his sister Susan. His grandchildren, SavHannah lee, Tyler Christian, Robert Solis, Reed Thomas, and Chloe Francis. His nephew Danny, and niece Joan and family, and his niece Candace and nephew Cole. There are so many wonderful nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and special people that were so important in his life. To those that have been on this journey with him, we offer our sincerest appreciation and blessings. A service of remembrance will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Calvary Houston, 3700 F.M. 528 Friendswood, Texas 77546.
