Frances Rohden's Obituary
Frances Rohden, 8-26-1929 to 2-8-2025.
Frances passed away peacefully early in the morning of Saturday, February 8, 2025 following a very brief illness. She was born August 26, 1929 in Kosse, Texas to Noah Pink Briggs and Annie Merle Taylor Briggs. Frances was predeceased by her sister Meloise Albritton and her brother Tommy Briggs. She attended Texas City High School. She married Randall Rohden in April of 1949. She and Randall moved to Pearland in the late 1950s. They had two daughters, Sandra Louise and Judith Ann.
Frances was very active up to the very end of her life and even drove herself until recently. She loved children, gardening, sewing, and animals! Ask anybody how many animals she’s had over the years, and you will be amazed. We think everyone in Pearland knew where to dump their animals because she would always take them in!
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Viveiros, daughter, Judy Shackouls and her husband Bobby. Her grandsons, Damon Hall and his wife Tonja, Scott Shackouls and his wife Elizabeth, Andy Shackouls and his wife Jody, Todd Shackouls and his wife Ellen. She is survived by her brother, Willis and his wife Marty and sister-in-law Sally Briggs. Her great grandchildren are Anthony (his wife Taylor) and Justin Hall, Helen Grace, Allison, Ashleigh, Charlotte, Charlie, Caroline, Annie, Cate and Grier Shackouls. Also, great grandchildren, Michael, Austin, Joshua (his wife Skylah) and Nick Cornett. Great-great grandchildren are Alexa and Jamison Hall, Madyson, Kensley, Josh Jr., and Azza Cornett. Nieces and nephews, LaDonna, Mark and Curtis Albritton, Cindy Edge, Steve and Bart Clement and Caron Park as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
Special recognition to Frances’ sweet neighbors, the Thomas Family, for all of their help and support. Additional gratitude to Linda Landry and Lucy Timberlake who were wonderful companions to Frances.
Frances will be laid to rest in a private ceremony on Wednesday, February 12.
