Frances Johnston's Obituary
Lena Frances Johnston, 90, of Pearland, Texas, passed away Thursday, November 20th, 2025. Frances passed peacefully in her sleep at Village Green Memory Care, and was soon surrounded by family. Frances was born in Manvel, Texas and graduated from Alvin High School. She was married to A. O. “Tunney” Johnston, on July 28th, 1955.
Frances first embarked on her career at MAC Truck. She later joined The Mortgage Company and continued her work with Houston Pipeline. Frances and Tunney owned and operated Tunney’s Lawnmower Repair for 40 years. She balanced the demands of work and motherhood with unwavering dedication. Frances was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pearland. She cherished her Wednesdays with the ‘Prime Timers’, where she enjoyed playing Mexican Train, dominoes, and other games with friends. Along with her commitment to her community, Frances enjoyed painting and was an avid supporter of her local sports teams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A. O. “Tunney” Johnston; her father, Frank Del Bello; her mother, Alvira Marie Del Bello; her sister, Reta Jarrett and brother, Donald Del Bello.
She is lovingly remembered by her family: daughter, Vicky Owen and husband, Rick Dorenkamp; son, Cary Johnston and wife, Gidget; daughter, Lori Studdard and husband, Stuart; grandchildren, Sarah Forrester, Stephanie Withers, Cameron Christian, Shanna McLaurin, Kaitlin Fults, Mary King, Kari Johnston, Brycen Guzman, Logan Studdard, and Carson Johnston; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is reunited, in passing, with her husband, A. O. “Tunney” Johnston.
The family wants to thank The Village Green Memory Care facility and Allegiance Hospice for their care, dedication, and support of the family during this difficult time.
