Frances Ann Denton's Obituary
Frances Ann Denton, age 92, passed away on March 17, 2024. She was born on September 16, 1931, in Houston, Texas to Forest Dale and Jimmie Vera Wright.
She graduated from Milby High School in 1949, and a two-year business school in 1951. Frances married Harold Victor Denton on September 15,1958. She and Vic had two children, Vickie and David. Frances was a devoted wife and mother. She and Vic were married for over 56 years and Frances cared for Vic during his lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
After Vic passed away, Frances moved into an assisted living facility where her two sisters also lived. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking and watching the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans.
Frances was a professing Christian, and the family takes great comfort in the knowledge that she has been reunited with Vic and many other family members and friends that have passed before her. She was a long-time member of Gulf Meadows Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. In her later years she was a member of Shadycrest Baptist Church. Frances was a secretary with Pearland Schools for 25 years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 60 years where she served in various roles including Worthy Matron.
Frances will be loved and missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Vic, her parents, her brother Truman Wright, sister Bonnie Dismukes, twin Freddie Hubert, sisters in law Elaine Ross and Marion Bustin. She is survived by her daughter Vickie Harris and husband Roger, son David Denton and wife Susan, grandchildren Beth Denton, Kellie Harris, Kristen Harris and Matt Denton, great-granddaughters Melody and Harmony. She is also survived by sisters in law Jerry Muhlbach and Jeanette Denton, many nieces, nephews and cousins in Texas and Canada
