Mrs. Frances Waynne Culbertson's Obituary
Frances Waynne Hartfiel Culbertson, passed away March 15, 2019 at Lakehouse On Dixie private care home. Born in Rosenberg, Texas on May 14, 1927. She graduated from Rosenberg High Scholl in 1944 and graduated from Texas Tech in Lubbock, Tx in 1950 with a Bachelors in Business Admin., Management, and Government. Frances went to work for the FBI in the Federal Building in Houston, lived in West University place on Shakespeare Street in a house with 3 other women. Married Charles Paul Culbertson in March 23, 1952 in Rosenberg, Texas and moved to Odessa, Texas and then to Crane, Texas. Charles and Frances had 3 children, Paula Denise, Allan Blane, and Todd Blake. They moved to Deer Park, Texas in 1962 where Frances Graduated from The University of Houston in 1969 with a Masters in Speech Pathology and Educational Diagnostics. She retired from HISD where she was a supervisor over Region IV speech pathologists in 1988. In 1992 the family moved to Country Place in Pearland, Texas. Frances was a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Pearland, and her hobbies wereplaying in the Ukelele Band, travelling and working in her yard.
She is preceded in death by her parents Helmuth Otto Hartfiel and Magnolia Mary “Maxie” Nachlinger Hartfiel, sister Barbara Gay Hartfiel Chachere and her beloved husband Charles Paul Culbertson that passed in 2001.
Frances is survived by her brother Don Hartfiel and wife Jeanne, children Denise and husband Bob, Allan and wife Dorian, Todd and wife Susan, grandchildren Kendra Newson and husband Kevin and two great-grandsons Preston Charles and Parker Reed.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 2pm with a visitation starting at 1pm. All services will be held at SouthPark Funeral Home & Cemetery.
