FLORENCE E. WHITAKER
Born in Houston, Texas October 2, 1919 to parents Mary Amelia Strait and
Clyde J. Strait. She grew up with five brothers and two sisters. Dad was a railroad official who provided well for the large family. She was married
To Clarence Whitaker for 48 years. She is survived by all three of her children. They are Mary Elizabeth Duncan of Astoria, Oregon, Dr. Robert E. Whitaker of New Braunfels and David & Jody Whitaker also of New Braunfels,TX. She is also survived by five grandchildren, James Duncan of
Portland, Oregon, David Duncan of Portland, Oregon,Rachel Garner of Liberty Hill, Texas, Justin Whitaker of Boulder, Colorado and Katie Whitaker of Tacoma, Washington, and one greatgrandson, Riley James of Liberty Hill, TX.
She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, October 9, 2014.
