Ms. Felicia LaMae Prince, known to her loved ones as Seesha, was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on March 13, 1965. She transitioned from this realm peacefully of natural causes on September 19, 2023 in Houston, Texas. She was the biological daughter of A.C. Prince and Willetta Garner, and she was lovingly raised by Willetta and David Garner.
She graduated from LaPorte High School in 1983, where she ran track and was popular amongst her peers. She was known as the life of the party, beautifully fierce, and a sweet natured person. She enjoyed listening to music and cooking. She could give Patty LaBelle a run for her money in any southern kitchen. She loved to host and entertain friends and family, and staying connected to her loved ones always remained a top priority for her. She enjoyed driving, and she was always down for a good road trip with the best soundtrack. Throughout her life, she maintained a career as a geriatric nurse and head chef.
Ms. Prince is survived by her mother Willetta Garner, one beautiful daughter, Ms. Corona Jones (Henry Wallace II) and one grandson, Kenyon Jones. Ms. Prince was the oldest of five siblings: herself, Stephanie, Theopolis, Dewan and LaDon. She loved being a big sister, aunt, great-aunt, mother and NeNe (grandmother). Although she chose not to marry, she was never lonely, and she had special friends over the years.
Ms. Prince was a vibrant individual who placed great emphasis on being a woman of her word. Her life philosophy centered on “healing out loud” and maintaining an unshakeable faith in God during all seasons. Even though she had her challenges, she lived a life of abundance. She cultivated a caring community of friends that became her chosen family and her pillars of support. Ms.Prince valued authenticity and Black joy. She wanted to educate people on the importance of good mental health and healing, and she did not want people to be afraid of what they did not understand about mental health.
May we all remember Ms. Prince’s humor, vitality, and wisdom as we celebrate her life today. May her spirit live on through her daughter and loved ones. May she have rest and joy as her spirit settles into the next realm. May her memory be a blessing. Amen and ashé.
