Fedencia Cavazos' Obituary
Fedencia (Saenz) Cavazos was born November 16, 1945 in Kenedy, Texas to Hermógenes and Maria Saenz Cavazos. Freddie started school in Karnes County until her family moved to Houston in 1956 when she ultimately made Pearland, Texas her home. As a young girl Freddie loved to play Cowboys and Indians. She would play from sun up to sun down only stopping when her mom would make her come in to eat. Her love for westerns carried into her adult years as she enjoyed watching Heartland season after season and any old western that was playing on tv.
Freddie loved to spend time with her sister Nora sometimes for the weekends and up to several weeks at a time. During those visits they would frequently go to McDonald's for lunch. They would order 10 chicken nuggets, 5 for her and 5 for Nora, fries and of course, two cokes, which was her absolute favorite drink. The order was always to go so that they could park and watch the airplanes come and go as they shared the meal. It brought great joy to Freddie.
Freddie worked hard her entire life. She started working in the fields and loved it. She then went on to work at Globe store and after that worked where she made custom curtains. Afterward, she dedicated herself to caring for Dwayne and Janie’s kids then helping Scott and Julie with the twins until her retirement. Freddie was often thought of as the honorary grandparent not only by the families she cared for but by several of her nieces and nephews.
Freddie was most treasured for her giving heart and the way she loved people. She had boundless generosity and an enormous heart that touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She had an innate ability to make others feel valued and loved, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
Freddie is one of ten children and is survived by her sisters Nora Rios, Marcelina Rocha, Elsa Gallion; brothers Thomas Cavazos, Gene Cavazos. She is predeceased in death by her parents: Hermógenes and Maria - siblings: Tomasita, Cruz, Petrita and Olivia.
A special thank you to Nora, Marcy, Elsa, Carolyn and Robert for opening your hearts, your homes and for being there when it mattered most. Your efforts eased Freddie's journey and brought great comfort to her.
