Ms. Evelyn Elizabeth Tracewell's Obituary
Evelyn Elizabeth Carpenter Tracewell, born August 29, 1916, to Margaret Elizabeth Cavins Carpenter and Major Lindsey Carpenter in Humble, Texas, died June 8, 2009, in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Tracewell, her parents, five sisters and three brothers. She is survived by two sisters-in law and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn graduated from Humble High School and Sam Houston State College. She served in the WAC's during the Second World War, and then worked as an accountant in Ohio, Hawaii and Houston. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care provided by Mae Mirabella and her staff and family. The family also wishes to thank Betty Welker for her devotion and assistance in the final years of Evelyn's life. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM, June 20, 2009, at the Lodge on the Lake in Country Place, Pearland, Texas. The services will be led by her nephews, Dr. Andrew Pate and Dr. James Carpenter.
