Mrs. Evelyn L. Lawhon's Obituary
EVELYN MARTIN LAWHON passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015, in Pearland, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Forrest and Fannie Manor Martin; her loving husband, Edgar A. Lawhon; sisters: Eve Martin and Eunice Jones; and brothers: Warren, Glenn, Roy Jr., and Lyle Martin. Evelyn is survived by her loving nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Evelyn was a faithful member of the Pearland Church of Christ. She grew up in Pearland and was the granddaughter of Pearland pioneer family Samuel Pleasant and Elmira Munsell Martin. Evelyn graduated from Pearland High School in 1943, where she was voted Most Popular and was Drum Major of the Drum and Bugle Corps. She retired from the United States Postal Service as well as the Pearland Independent School District. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed attending the WWII Marine Corps reunions with her husband.
The funeral service for Evelyn were held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas with Brother D.C. Brown officiating. Interment followed at South Park Cemetery, Pearland, Texas.
