Evangeline "Nini" Vences, age 59, passed away on September 25, 2015 in Houston, Tx. at Houston Methodist Hospital while being surrounded by family members at her bed side at 08:15 a.m. Evangeline Vences who was a Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Mother-In-Law, Sister & Friend was born on April 6, 1956 in Houston, Tx. & was always known as having a beautiful Smile & joyful Laugh that always made everyone around her laugh as well no matter where she was at. She worked for HISD for 14 years as a cashier at Lamar Fleming Middle School & Phyllis Wheatley High School. She was always listening to Tejano music, dancing & always thinking about her two sons. Evangeline Vences was Survived by her loving husband Juan Cantero, Sons: Raunel Jaime Vences (Wife - Angeles) Christopher Vences (Wife - Krystal). Grandchildren: Thaly Vences, Saul and Angel Cervantes, Anthony Reed and Jewel Alexander. Sisters: Veronica Carrillo, Adele Herrera, Sylvia Venegas, Dolores Rocha, Odilia Zapata, Monica Silva, Rita Shattah, and Alfreida Rocha. Brother Manuel Rocha. Numerous nieces and nephews and many friends, Evangeline is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Josephine Rocha.
The Vences Family asks for your presence and prayers with them, visitation service will be on Wednesday September 30, 2015 from 4-9 p.m. with a Rosary being held at 7 p.m. at South Park Funeral Home 1310 N. Main St. Pearland, Tx. 77581. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday October 1, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 2405 Navigation Blvd. Houston, Tx. 77003. Burial service will be held at South Park Funeral Home 1310 N. Main St. Pearland, Tx. 77581.
