Mrs. Eunice Ellen Sparks-Newlin's Obituary
Eunice Ellen Brisco Sparks-Newlin, 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 21st in Houston, TX. She was born January 18, 1924 to Marion Fletcher and Tennie Lee Brisco. Eunice is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Jack Newlin; children, Virginia Knapp and husband Kenneth, Alford Sparks and wife Kathleen, and Betty Hodgett and husband George. Her grandchildren are: Patricia Helber and husband Rodney, David Knapp and wife Sherry, Deborah Loessin and husband Jon, Daniel Frank and wife Mary, Sean Dillon and wife Heather, and Kevin Dillon. Great grandchildren are: Morgan Dillon, David Dillon, Matthew Dillon, Jacob Frank, Joseph Frank, James Frank, Joshua Frank, Jennifer Garcia and husband Adrian, Jacob Helber and fiancee Jill Prasatik, Joshua Knapp and fiancee Koren Levitas, Matthew Loessin and wife Valorie, Candace Loessin and fiance Michael Shapiro, Walter Loessin, and Andrew Loessin. Great-great grandsons are Paxton Garcia and Cullen Loessin. Other survivors include: sister, Ruth Bly; sister-in-law, Dora Brisco, niece, Linda Bly; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by two daughters: Mary Jane Sparks, Barbara Frank, son-in-law Leonard Frank; sister Lois Jewel Brisco, brother Lee Brisco; and former husband and the father of her childern Clyde Alford Sparks. Eunice was diagnosed with advanced Glioblastoma on March 8, 2010 and passed away due to complications of this condition. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Main Baptist Church, 4300 E Sam Houston Pkwy S, Pasadena, Texas 77505.
