Mrs. Eula Mae Wehunt's Obituary
.Eula Me Ivey Wehunt went to be with her Lord on November 5, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Eula Mae was born in San Perlita, Willacy County, Texas to Robert Ivey and Pearlie Gant Ivey on October 27, 1935. She was raised in Donna, Texas. After graduating from Donna High School in 1953 she married the love of her life, Richard Wehunt from Boyle, Mississippi on March 14, 1954. Richard and Eula had no children of their own but helped raise special nieces Virginia Clark and Edith (Bubba) Bartnesky. Eula would claim them has "her daughters" with sister Hazel's blessing. A nephew, Lee Woodcock, was a big help when Eula and Richard were by themselves after Virginia and Edith married. They treated him as a son. She and Richard loved to fish and spent many summers at Toledo Bend, TX fishing and being host to numerous nephews and nieces. Bubba was a devoted caregiver to Eula. She was a practicing RN for 32 years. She retired to care for her second Mother. Richard passed away on January 20, 2004 and now Eula has joined him after nine years apart. They were married for forty nine years. Preceding her in death were husband Richard, her parents, Sisters Hazel (2008), Christine (1952), Agnes (1929), Elsa Lois (1932), Eva Pearl (2006), Brothers Robert (1927) and Melvin (1990). She is survived by sister Margie Woodcock of Porter, Texas, her twin sister Lula Mae Hales (Jack) of New Braunfels, Texas, brothers Tommy Ivey of Porter, Texas and John L. (Sandra) of Donna, Texas, brother in law O.J. Wehunt of Anderson, Texas, sister in laws Lula Dell Cummings of Nettleton, Reatha Murphy of Fort Worth, and Richard's niece, Prissey of Dallas.
