Eugenia Arceo Macasieb's Obituary
Eugenia Arceo Lumabas Macasieb passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2023 at the age of 79 in Pearland, Texas. Eugenia/Enyang was born in Pulilan, Bulacan in the Philippines on December 20, 1943. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alejandro Macasieb, her parents, Fidel and Ma. Adoracion Lumabas, her 4 brothers and sisters, Mariano Lumabas, Benita Barriatos, Marciano Lumabas and Severina Zapanta.
Eugenia/Enyang was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Daisy and Hung Pham, Arlene and Angel Diaz, and Cecile and Andrew Reynolds and her nine grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Pham, Amri, Arianna, and Alexia Diaz and Laurenn, Rachel, Brooke and Mark Reynolds.
Eugenia/Enyang studied to be a teacher at Far Eastern University. However, instead of focusing on her career, she was more passionate on raising her young family. She was a stay at home mom/wife in the Philippines as well as when they immigrated to the United States. At the time, the phrase “stay-at-home-mom” did not exist. It was customary for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the time, Eugenia/Enyang was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and extended family. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She always provided support and love for her family. She and her husband Alex/Ador worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their children and grandchildren. She would proudly boast about all three of her daughters graduating from college. Eugenia was part of a very close family and she will be missed very much.
The family and friends of the Macasieb family are invited to the visitation at South Park Funeral Home located at 1310 N. Main St., Pearland, Texas 77581 on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 9AM. The funeral service will follow at 10AM. Eugenia will be laid to rest immediately following at South Park Cemetery.
