Eugene Loran Meyer's Obituary
Eugene Loran Meyer was born in Delmar, Iowa on August 15, 1928. He went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2022 in Pearland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Meyer, siblings Raymond Meyer, Leo Meyer, Frances Jenkins, Katherine “Kay” Busch, Melvin Meyer, Velma Lloyd, Arnold Meyer, Henrietta “Charlene” Rupp, John “Junior” Meyer, amd Ralph Meyer, his wife of 58 years, Maria Meyer, and his granddaughter, Natalie Davis. He is survived by his daughters, Cecilia and husband Joey Guinn, Cynthia and husband John Borden III and Cathleen Freeman, his grandchildren Shay and husband Beorn Costin, Ivory and husband James Bennett, Scott Davis, Renee and husband Jason Briscoe, Tiffany and husband Esteban Tovar Jr., and John Borden IV, great-grandchildren Cameron Davis, Feona Costin, Owen Davis, Keeson Davis, Dillon Bennett, and Mateo Tovar, as well as many other family and friends.
Eugene grew up on a farm during the great depression. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and fought in World War II and The Korean War. While in the military, he met his wife Maria and they were married on July 3, 1955. He was a machinist for several different companies before he retired to help his wife with her preschool students. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and avid member of the Catholic Church. He had a very big sense of humor and loved taking trips to Las Vegas with his wife and would always luck out even if no one else did. He loved animals, especially his English bulldogs Regis and CoCo.
