Esther Louise Gibson's Obituary
Esther Louise Gibson, age 92, of Houston, Texas, passed away on June 19th, 2023.
The visitation will be held from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Sunday, June 25th at the South Park Funeral Home, Pearland, Texas. The funeral service will be held at 9:30am on Monday, June 26th also at the South Park Funeral Home.
Esther was born in Houston on October 21st, 1930, the oldest of 4 children born to Ophelia (Fay) Lopez and Louis S. Lopez. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School. Esther married Frank Galvan Jr. and together they had 4 children. Esther and Frank moved to Pasadena in 1962. They were married for 21 years. She later re-married, to Bob Gibson.
Esther held a number of jobs throughout her life, but she spent the greatest number of years working at Frank’s & Son’s Jewelry where her witty sense of humor and natural charm endlessly endeared her to customers.
Esther spent the last 6 months of her life at the Vista Nursing & Rehabilitation Home in Pasadena. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Vista for taking such wonderful care of her. Esther smiled and laughed every day she was there, continuously saying how happy she felt.
Esther is survived by her siblings (Louis Lopez II, and Rita Ybarra), children (Sheryl, Sandra, Frank III, and Donald), 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 18 nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
Esther is preceded in death by Frank Galvan Jr., Bob Gibson, and her brother, Joe Zambrano.
