Mrs. Essie Marhofer's Obituary
Essie Marhofer, of Houston, Texas passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Pine Tree Cottage after a short fight against dementia. Born in Strong, Arkansas, August 8, 1919, to John Wesley and Emma Anna Wells, Essie was living in Greenville, Mississippi when she met and married Gerald Marhofer. Shortly after, she gave birth to Gerald Wayne and Donald Marhofer.
Essie Marhofer had lived a full life, she was loved by everyone. Essie loved to fish, cook, and be around her family. She will always be remembered for making huge dinners on Sundays, oversized sandwiches, shopping, spoiling all the little ones in the family, cracking jokes, and making people laugh. Essie was a hard working woman, at her job and her home life. Essie is survived by her brother J.B. Wells and his wife Bea; her sons Gerald Wayne Marhofer Jr.; Donald and his wife Debbie; Grandson Donnie and his wife Racheal with their children Dylan and Aubrey, on the way; Granddaughter Thersa and husband Darrell Crosby with their children Taylor and Dalton. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 January 23, 2012 at South Park Funeral Home.
