Ernest Lee Weeks' Obituary
Ernest Lee Weeks Jr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather died peacefully in company of his loved ones on October 4th at the age of 85. Ernest was born and raised in Pickens, Mississippi with his brother, George Ray and sister, Billie. After graduation he joined the United States Army and met his wife Gisela while stationed in Berlin, Germany. Gisela and Ernest had one daughter, Heidi. He earned a degree in Math & Physics from Mississippi College and went on to work for NASA and then Lockheed for over 35 years. During his career Ernie received countless awards, recognition and medals for his innovative ideas, dedication and leadership. Ernest was an intelligent and hardworking colleague who spent his free time with family or on the golf course. To those who knew him, he was loving, funny, and playful. His warm heart and sense of humor will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, his daughter and son in law, his brother, his sister, his 3 grandchildren, Claudia, Elizabeth & Karina, & their families. The family would like to thank his friends & caregivers for their loving care and enduring friendship throughout his struggle with dementia.
