As a long-time friend of Vera, I had the opportunity to enjoy the "good times" with both her mom and dad. But, one thing I especially remember are all the stories that Emma enjoyed telling us about Vera's childhood. These stories were shared with fun and laughter as she would tell us her experience of being a first time mom.

Mrs. Rodriguez was also a HUGE fan of the Oilers and she often organized trips to cheer the guys on. On one trip, we had a replica of the opposing team, I don't remember which, but I think it was a Dallas Cowboy, that was flying in the air outside our bus window. I felt like a special fan as we would arrive with a bus load of cheering fans she had rounded up for the game.....and afterwards, the partying - especially IF we won :)

These are the wonderful memories I will cherish of a wonderful woman, mom and grandmother. May her legacy carry on with her grandchildren, in that she LOVED her family the most.
