Mr. Elmer Lee Grimes' Obituary
Elmer Lee Grimes was born to Annie Belle and Elisha Lafayette Grimes on May 24, 1937 as the youngest of five children. He passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the age of 76 surrounded by his family. Lee grew up in East Texas and moved to Houston in the 1950s. He worked for Diamond Chemical until 1965 before becoming a successful homebuilder in Pasadena and Deer Park until 2009. Lee had several hobbies, including motorcycles and photography. Lee enjoyed going camping and fishing with his family. He also enjoyed collecting and shooting firearms, and loved going dove hunting. He was very talented at wood working and enjoyed building furniture and other things for his family. Lee was a great fan of Western films, particularly those starring John Wayne, and he also enjoyed the music of Neil Diamond. Lee was survived by his wife Barbara of 32 years, his daughter Cyndy Presley, son-in-law Ray Presley, granddaughter Mikayla Presley, his daughter Desiree Richardson, and son-in-law Andrew Richardson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church Building Fund in memory of Lee Grimes and his love and talent for home building.
